E-phem-er-a
E-phem-er-a This project is inspired by the 16th Century curiosity cabinets, where collections became displays of wealth and status, bringing together examples of everything that existed, both bizarre and mundane. Today collections have become more personal, often seen as a rescue mission, saving objects from extinction, collections that become a shrine to memories past and a reminder of our own mortality. The objects in these collections have a tale to tell, a history and a value that only the collector and others like them understand. The objects can be cast-offs, disregarded, used and disposed, unfashionable, often superseded by better models , sometimes the stories are more interesting that the objects themselves. This is an ongoing project, and will be updated as new work is produced.
